The Bodice

The dress has very narrow seam allowances (3/16") - which is made even more difficult with the gathering stitches. I did the gathering stitches in orange thread so I can just remove them later. Their justification for the narrow SA is because that's how the original extant gown was, but I still would have preferred a more reasonable seam allowance.

It has gathering across the front and back pieces, but I can't find where it says what the final shoulder seam length should be. It just says "gather". I guess it's up to my own determination? The dress has slightly dropped shoulders so I suppose I'd rather err on "too low" than gathered up too high.

It also has a unique partial lining in the armscye to the waist, which is all I really worked on today.
