The Pleater... and Patience

Well it took me a year, but I finally mastered the pleater. The problem? Me, of course. I had the needles in wrong. You'd think I could follow directions better than that. Finally I watched a YouTube tutorial and got it all figured out. It's actually a really fun machine and works like a charm.

I'll sometimes encounter a thread on a costuming page and people will cite their lack of patience as a reason they won't try something advanced, or new.

People.

I am the epitome of impatience. F-bombs get dropped. Sh*t gets thrown across the room. BUT, I'm also tenacious and refuse to quit just because there's a learning hump to get over.

And I tell myself 100 years ago damn near every woman could use this blasted thing - even the dumb ones. No, really. It's like knitting. I mean, if millions of little old ladies can do it then it can't be that hard. And it isn't. In fact, it's exactly as hard as you think it's going to be - so check your negative attitude at the door.
