I'm finally able to participate in the Historical Sew Fornightly (which is now monthly) and the first project this year is Undergarments, so I'm making Regency stays. I actually have several Regency stays patterns so I may get crazy and make a couple of them to compare.I'm currently working on the Regency Long Stays patterned by RedThreaded (an Etsy seller). So far it's going together beautifully, but I need to decide what I want to use for the binding. I'm leaning towards a cotton sateen. I also want some cotton sateen to make corded stays so I ordered a couple yards (not surprisingly, JoAnn's didn't have squat for sateen)
I also have this beautiful Herringbone twill fabric that I stockpiled some years ago. I think it would make a gorgeous Regency or early Victorian corset, though I've only seen a handful of extant examples from those earlier years in any color other than white. I'm just in love with this dark teal.
