I bought my vintage 1923 Red Eye Singer when I was attending college in Chicago (1994) for $15 at a junk shop in Andersonville. It was inside a junky cabinet with peeling veneer and I have no idea if they realized what was inside. Now it finally has a beautiful cabinet to display it. The machine works - it's electric, but you can easily change the belt out and it will work on a treadle base. It's a workhorse of a machine and I've used it to sew through leather and denim.
We're building a new home in 2015 and I'm hoping to design my workshop in complete Victorian decor. This will be the perfect accessory.
