There is an amazing exhibit, The Making of Gone With the Wind, in Austin through January 4, 2015 commemorating the 75th anniversary of the film. My primary interest was to see the gowns - there were 5 on display - thanks to a successful conservation effort. The curtain dress is actually still quite nice aside from the discoloration (possibly from a chemical disinfectant). The wedding dress (pictured below), veil and blue peignoir were too fragile so replicas were displayed. The rest of the exhibit was amazing, too - even if you're not fanatical about this film. It's definitely worth visiting if you're going to be in the area - even worth going out of your way for if you can. The entire exhibit is also catalogued in a beautiful book that would be a great gift for the GWTW fans in your family - I promise they will see things they never have before (though do yourself a favor and buy it from Amazon for $15 less than the museum).
