1861 Day Dress (Finished)

The finished dress - I did a lot of the work by hand because it's the only method to achieve some of the details. It's fully lined with cotton muslin, and the bodice is boned in front. The buttons are fabric covered to match the dress, the sleeve trim is black chequered and the bow is silk. At some point I'd like to embroider it.

This was mostly an exercise in technique. The next time I make this dress it will be silk - and worn over a small hoope and petticoat.
