Two Socks at Once

2 in1 Socks (WIP)

I was instantly intrigued by this design concept; Knitting Two Socks at Once, one inside the other! The pattern was reprinted in the Winter 2010 issue of Knitting Traditions (PieceWork) magazine.

So far, the biggest obstacle was learning to hold the front yarn in my right hand, since I knit Continental (left-handed), but I think I'm doing pretty well! Using the variegated yarn is helping me keep everything "separate".

Alternating every stitch, the inside sock is knitted with the left hand, and the outside sock is purled with the right hand. When I'm finished I will be able to "magically" pull one sock from outside the other - tada!

The yarn is Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball and I was in love with the colorway - the timing was perfect because when I saw the pattern I knew exactly what yarn I was going to buy for it.

I know I said I was going use only my stash yarn this year. I lied.
